New Italian-designed UPS systems for Africa

New Italian-designed UPS systems for Africa

Italian designed and manufactured Siel uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems are now marketed in South Africa, distributed exclusively by power provisioning specialist, Powermode.

The Siel range is targeted at applications in which continuous power is key to uptime and productivity such as those associated with essential services and mission critical requirements in medium to large organisations. These include applications in the military, telecommunications, banking, distribution, medical, security and government fields.

“A feature of all Siel UPS systems is the use of on-line ‘double conversion’ technology in terms of which the input AC mains supply is converted to DC power for battery charging,” explains Jack Ward, Powermode MD.

“The DC flow is then fed through an inverter to reconstruct pure sinusoidal AC output. Because the AC output is completely regenerated, it is free from any mains-borne interference or ‘noise’ such as spikes and voltage variations.”

Backing the Siel range, Powermode supplies and implements fully integrated turnkey power management solutions which include generator or alternative energy sources designed to meet a wide range of performance, operational and commercial requirements.

Powermode is also able to advise companies on electrical, environmental and other system implementation considerations. It offers a range of support services including preventative maintenance, training and access to a technical help desk.
